Barry Eidlin is an Associate Professor of Sociology at McGill University, a longtime member of Solidarity, and more recently a member of DSA. He is a comparative historical sociologist who studies class, politics, social movements, and social change.
His book, Labor and the Class Idea in the United States and Canada was published by Cambridge University Press in 2018. Other academic research has been published in leading journals including the American Sociological Review and Politics & Society. His writing for broader audiences has appeared in The Washington Post, Jacobin, and other venues. He also comments regularly in various media outlets on labor politics and policy.
Prior to embarking on his academic career, he spent several years on staff with Teamsters for a Democratic Union.
